Crimpic recognizes that each person may have different needs. We don’t limit you to how many contacts you have on your account. We want you to feel comfortable with your list and will not put any restrictions in this area.
No, alerts can be received on any cell phone by way of SMS. Should one or more of your contacts not have a 3G phone, you may alert them by way of SMS. Most people today have a 3G phone and can receive emails and text instantly.
Your contact knows who you are and what you look like. In the event that a law enforcement agency is asked to attend a situation they will be have access to your latest photo to assist with their response to your call for help.
In the event that an attacker forces you to delete or mark pictures as safe, you can enter your secret duress code which will perform the task you have been forced to do but Crimpic will send out a special alert to your contacts telling them that you are in a serious situation and you activated the silent duress feature.
After logging into your Crimpic account, go to the Pictures tab and select the pictures you want to mark as safe. At this point you will need to enter your Crimpic PIN number to change the status of the picture. Warning: If you enter the Duress PIN number the picture will be marked as safe but silent alarm messages will be sent to your contact list.
Your Crimpic account comes complete with 20 MB of data storage that is enough to hold up to 30 pictures.
Most people today have Cell Phones that can receive emails. Emails are free and more effective than SMS. In the event that your contact does not have an email facility on their phone you can choose to send them an sms.
Yes, you have the choice of sending just emails or sms or both if you like. Each contact can be customized to suite your needs.
Our Gateway can provide you with unlimited emails. SMS blocks must be purchased by a third party. To allow you to access SMS at wholesale rates Crimpic can sell blocks of SMS at cost. We do not profit from your sms purchase, our aim is to provide you with top level security and not restrict you in any way.
When you purchase a block of SMS from Crimpic, an SMS credit will be added to your personal SMS Bank. When your balance is low you will be notified with a warning email. If you run out of SMS message credits, emails will continue to be sent in the event of an alarm.
You can purchase a block of 10, 25 or 50 SMS messages. They average out at approximately $0.13 (13 cents) each. Please note that different countries have different rates. In most cases you will only need one credit to send a SMS alert. A list of Countries and charges are listed below:

When using Crimpic the application will deliver to the secure server, pictures that have been taken. They will be date and time stamped and will also have the GPS coordinates of the event. Panic alarms sent are also filed along with the GPS coordinates.
Yes, absolutely. Crimpic is no different to the millions of CCTV cameras used around the world. The information is stored in the same way and can be accessed at any time. Information cannot be doctored and is deemed to be an accurate and true event recording.
All pictures and information are stored on a secure Crimpic Server. The server is backed up regularly and uses the latest in encrypted technology.
The only people that can get access to your pictures and information are those you have elected to do so. Crimpic will however provide information to Law Enforcement Authorities or Courts of law with proper documentation.
A snap shot every 2 seconds guarantees that information is sent to the Crimpic secure server without delay. Sending large video files only slows down the process which is not the desired outcome. Crimpic simply “Snaps and Sends”
Much like Video files, sound files are large and difficult to push up to a server. They are not effective and certainly not in a format that can be used as evidence.
From the moment that you activate your Crimpic application the viewfinder on you cell is active. Crimpic gathers your GPS information and is ready for you to hit the “Start” button. Up until this point nothing is recorded. This is a great feature especially when you are walking in an area that you feel uncomfortable being in. The moment you decide that you are in danger you should hit the start button. Crimpic will snap and send immediately and will not stop doing so until you decide to stop. Information is now being stored on the secure server should you need to review it at a later date. Remember, once you have taken pictures you will need to mark them as safe within 60 minutes otherwise your contact list will be alerted that you are in danger.
The panic button is just above the start button, you don’t need to push the start button first. The panic feature overrides any other feature and sends alarms instantly to the server for action without pictures. If the situation allows, you can push the start button to also store pictures on the secure server. There is no countdown on the panic button; it is ready when you decide to use it.
In the event of a false alarm it would be advisable to make contact with you contact list of people and let them know what happened. If you have pushed the Panic button accidentally you must tell you contacts to disregard the alarm. If you have only pushed the start button, just log into your account and mark the pictures as “Safe”
Orbiting satellites combine and provide your 3G phone with data that allows for your position to be pinpointed within meters. The more satellites acquired the more precise position is obtained. This information is overlaid on Google maps that can provide your contact list with detailed information right down to the street address. CAUTION: areas such as subways, high-rise buildings and some suburban/country areas can give an inaccurate reading.
This is where you will appreciate the thought and effort put into the development of Crimpic. Our “Snap and Send” process is so fast, whilst others pack and send large files. Their information can be sitting on the ground in pieces while Crimpic has it’s information on the secure server and your contacts alerted.
If you forget to log into your account and mark pictures as safe you will first receive an email from Crimpic reminding you to do so. If you do not respond to the email your contact list will be informed of the situation asking them to make contact with you and check to see if all is okay. This is also called the Fail Safe feature.
Depending on the availability of a 3G network and adequate coverage, your Crimpic application will work just fine. Please check with your service provider that they have an arrangement with other Telco’s in the country you are visiting before travelling. We also recommend that you test Crimpic in every country when you first arrive to ensure proper operation.
Yes, a fully functional 3G network is imperative.
You can change your profile, contact details as many times as you like. You can create profiles for when you’re at college, on vacation or anything that suites your needs.
Our development team is working on other platforms now which will be release in the first quarter of 2010. For now, Crimpic is currently only available on the Apple 3G Iphone.
Crimpic is no different to the security system that you already may have in your home. Understanding how it works and what it can do is important. We strongly recommend that you perform practice drills on a regular basis. When or if the time comes it will be a natural reflex when you unleash Crimpic.
When you first purchase Crimpic, we recommend that you practice using it for the first few days. This will not only make you more comfortable with the application but also let your contacts practice their role as well. After you are familiar with its operation we recommend that you test the system once every month.
